DO I NEED TO TAKE MY THYROID Rx THE MORNING OF MY BLOOD DRAW?

Thyroid labs need to be drawn four to six hours after your morning dose. If you take your thyroid prescription two times a day, please have your labs drawn after your morning dose. This may require taking your afternoon dose a little bit later than normal.

DO I NEED TO FAST FOR MY BLOOD DRAW?

You may or may not need to fast for your blood draw. Please contact Sol Medicine at (512) 279-2133 to see what is required for your particular order. If you do need to fast for your blood draw, please fast for at least 8 hours prior to your blood draw.

I RECEIVED A LARGE BILL FOR MY LABS

It is possible your insurance will not cover all of the blood work ordered.  If this is the case, please let our office know.  It may be more beneficial for you to pay our self-pay prices instead of using your insurance. This may be less expensive than paying the lab balance.

HOW DO I FIND THE CLOSEST LAB LOCATION?

Both Quest and CPL have tools to find the draw station closest to your home or office. Please find the links below.

CAN I USE A LAB OTHER THAN QUEST OR CPL?

Yes. You will just need to notify a staff member and Dr. Haest can write a lab order for you. You may pick up this order from our office or request it to be mailed.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE SOL MEDICINE TO RECEIVE MY RESULTS?

Typically, it takes our office 7-10 days to receive blood results.

Saliva test results may take up to weeks after the date you mail your kit.
